Uninstall Next Search
You can uninstall Next Search just like you would any other Windows program:
- Click the Start menu and select Control Panel.
- Click Uninstall a program under Programs. (Or, click Programs and Features.)
- Find Next Search in the list of programs.
- Double-click Next Search.
Change Your Browser Settings and Save Them through Next Search
To change your home page, new tab, default search engine and error browser settings, and continue to have Next Search prevent them from being altered, follow these steps:
- Click the arrow in the notifications area (at the far right of your taskbar) to show hidden icons.
- Click the Next Search icon.
- Select the setting you want to change (e.g. Home Page, New Tab).
- Select the page you want displayed
To select a page that isn’t listed, select Other and add the web address you want to use (e.g. www.myfavorite page.com).
- Click Apply to set the selected setting for Internet Explorer®, Chrome™ and Firefox®. Please note: Certain versions of Next Search are not fully compatible with Chrome. For those versions, clicking Apply will only support the selected new tab and error page in Chrome, but will not set your home page and default search.
Change Your Browser Settings and Disable Next Search
To change your browser settings, simply follow the steps below. Please note that if you change a setting manually, Next Search will be disabled for that particular setting and will no longer save it.
Important note to users of versions older than 2.13.0.
Next Search versions older than 2.13.0 may support multiple search experiences for your browser’s home page and default search, including: Conduit Search, Trovi Search and the Next Search customize search powered by Bing®.
Firefox Uninstall
Change your home page
- Click the Firefox button (or Tools menu) at the top of the browser window.
- Select Options.
- Select the General tab.
- Enter the web address of the home page you want OR select one of the other options.
- Click OK.
Restore your browser’s new tab settings
- Open a new tab in your browser.
- Click Restore on the bottom of the page.
Change your default search provider
- Click the down arrow in the Firefox Search bar (top right corner of the Firefox window).
- Select your preferred search provider.
Google Chrome Uninstall
Change your startup pages
- Click the Chrome menu (three horizontal lines) at the top of the browser window.
- Select Settings.
- In the “On startup” section, select Open a specific page or set of pages.
- Click Set pages.
- Add, edit, or delete startup pages.
- Click OK.
Change your home page
- Click the Chrome menu (three horizontal lines) at the top right corner of the browser window.
- Select Settings.
- In the Appearance section, select Show Home button.
- Click Change.
- Select Open this page and enter the web address.
- Click OK.
Restore your browser’s new tab settings
- Open a new tab in your browser.
- Click Restore on the bottom of the page.
Change your default search provider
- Click the Chrome menu (three horizontal lines) at the top right corner of browser window.
- Select Settings.
- In the Search section, click the arrow to choose your preferred search engine from the dropdown menu.
- For more options, click Manage search engines….
- If these directions do not match your version of Chrome, please paste the following URL into your address bar: chrome://chrome/settings
Internet Explorer Uninstall
Change your home page
- Click the gear icon (or Tools menu) at the top of the browser window.
- Select Internet options.
- Click the General tab.
- Change the home page address.
- Click Apply.
Restore your browser’s new tab settings
- Open a new tab in your browser.
- Click Restore on the bottom of the page.
Change your default search provider
- Click the Tools icon (gear-wheel) in the top left corner, or click “Tools” in the Menu bar, or press ALT+X.
- Select “Manage add-ons”.
- Click on “Search Providers”.
- Select your preferred search provider.
